Monday: Christmas

Kitchen
The lights are up in my kitchen...I will give ya'll a Christmas tour very soon!

Monday: Classics

One of my favorite songs of all time:

Play that Arthur Conley song and read my post! I'm a "classics" kind of girl.  Things that are made well are worth your money.  Classics never go out of style..... I feel that true classics are a weird hybrid of WASP preppy style, old fashioned Parisian style, American Country, and a heavy dose of British for good measure. What a mix!!!!!!!!!

Here's my list:

1. LL Bean Tote Bag
Here's one of my LL Bean totes, had this one since 1999!

2. Hermes Scarf

My Queen
Hermes has the best advertisements..

The traditional Hermes silk twill scarf comes in 36X36.  Some women long for rows and rows of Louboutin's and Manolo's.. I long for stacks of orange Hermes boxes filled with beautiful scarves.  They are so beautiful. Nothing is better than a gorgeous scarf, or more classic.

Alexis Stewart and Kevin Sharkey with his mind blowing collection of Hermes.
There is an new amazing Hermes scarf book out called The Hermes Scarf: History & Mystique. Great gift for someone who loves amazing fashion coffee table books.

3. Cowboy Boots
Mr Cowboy Ronald!
You can thank this guy for making western wear so chic.
Hey!! That's me and my boots!
My boots are much loved, much worn, much stained!
Lucchese are the BEST cowboy boots.  They have been around since 1880!! WOW! If people are still wearing them and talking about them nowadays you know they are great boots.
Beautiful Lucchese boots

Another Lucchese pair. Already broken in for ya!

Classic song about boots:

4. Loafers

Monogrammed Needlepoint loafers from The Pink Giraffe
The Pink Giraffe offers waaaaay cheaper loafers then the very expensive Stubbs & Wootton ones ($900!).

I LOVE Stubbs & Wooton slippers!
5. Wellington Boots (Wellies)

The Queen wears hers- WITH an Hermes scarf!
I suggest Hunter Boots- they last forever!

I'll leave you with another CLASSIC song

Wednesday: Tommy Hilfiger

Yes...........the preppier the better!

Awesome lady and dog combo

I obviously think the lady in the red pants is the coolest one in the commercial because she is carried everywhere, not leaving her wine glass anywhere, and walking while everyone else is running after the table.

TH Velveteen Rome Pant

The song in the commercial is by Vampire Weekend and it's the song called "Holiday."

Side note, I love Tommy Hilfiger's apartment at the Plaza.  His son has the most adorable little boy's room I have ever seen! You can check out more pictures on the Harper's Bazaar site.

This is what a little boy's room should look like.

Love she is wearing a dress to match her bedroom.
Mental note: if ever photographed in bedroom wear dress to match.

Tuesday: Movie

I watched "Seems Like Old Times" with Goldie Hawn and Chevy Chase last night. I really love this movie. It's "view it now" on Netflix, so I was huddled in bed with my laptop watching this and cracking up.

Chevy Chase is kidnapped and forced to rob a bank.  (There are some holes in that part of the story line.)   He enlists his ex-wife (Goldie Hawn) who is an attorney to help him while he's on the run.  Her husband just happens to be the district attorney... No spoiler alerts from me because I am not going to give anything away!
Goldie is the cutest!
I love Goldie Hawn's character in this movie- tons of dogs, a lawyer, and caring about the people she represents! I hope to be like her when I'm finished with school...I want 6 dogs!!

Dogs love to sleep in bed. I hope one day men can appreciate this!

"Ok Ok they were just leaving!"

"We want to come to work with you!"

"We love taking naps with our momma. Go away buddy!"

Those are my captions, not quotes from the movie! Here's the movie if you want to see it-  Seems Like Old Times

Let me know if you liked it! It's a good one.

Monday: Inspiration

Monday: Christmas

Welcome and get ready for a tiny Christmas preview.. this Christmas I am going to take you by the hand a guide you on a Christmas extravaganza!
Mental Note: If I have a kids, the whole family is dressing up like this

Great Holiday Dress from JCREW (wear pearls)

"Fred Perry" wreath from Martha Stewart.com

The holidays are fun! You do weird things like take the birds off your Christmas tree and put them on your head with your best friend.  (I love you Myke! I can't wait to see you during the holidays!)

Let's kick it off with my favorite Christmas song, by the best singer in history. This specific version is my favorite Christmas song.  I wish I was smart enough to get this on my ipod somehow.  Listen to the whole song... things get moving in this song at 1:40 and 2:15 is magic from then on there.

You have no idea how much I wish I was a backup singer for Whitney for this song!

Elvis Wreath from MarthaStewart.com
This version of "Silent Night" by Elvis reminds me of those quiet moments on Christmas Eve.
It's night time and you are driving on an icy road, and you are thinking the holidays are almost over because Christmas is tomorrow.  Maybe you are thinking about this whispering peace that seems to come about at Christmas.  It can be the most hauntingly lonely time for some or the most treasured time of year for others.  It's a time of reflection and thinking about life and the fragility of it all, how quickly time passes.
Christmas is the quietest time on earth.  It's magic.

Until next time...xo Sarah
